During the BLM Protest in NYC, artists from all walks of life contributed by bringing their voices to the streets. Painting the boarded-up buildings in Soho brought magic through the silence. Bringing awareness was key, as well as opening up conversation to a much bigger issue. The orisha “Yemaya” was very much needed for everyone who felt unheard or needed guidance to keep going. My contribution was painting “Yemaya”—a reminder that we are not alone.
